A Thanksgiving Earthquake in the New Madrid Seismic Zone
Well last night the New Madrid seismic zone had an minor earthquake timed perfectly with the Thanksgiving weekend. At about 8:00 pm near Caruthersville, Missouri there was a magnitude 3.2 earthquake. It was felt locally near the epicenter on both sides of the Mississippi river. Because it was on a peaceful pre holiday night, more people were at home to feel and report it.
