What it's all about
As an activity associated with the New Madrid Bicentennial, Kent Moran PhD will give weekly reports of historical events that occurred 200 years ago during the time of the 1811-12 earthquakes. These earthquakes rocked the central U.S. and were felt as far away as Gulf Coast and Canada. These reports will span from accounts from various locations to snippets of history occurring during the years of 1811 and 1812. An effort will be made to synchronize information with the time posted so the reader can easily discover what had occurred 200 years before. This gives the reader a window on the year the earthquakes happened, and some insight into what people were experiencing .
