Magnitude 3.5 earthquake in the New Madrid Seismic Zone

Well this morning the New Madrid seismic  zone had a 3.5 earthquake.  It caused a stir here as our instruments detected it quite clearly. Also it was felt in the Tiptonville/New Madrid area. It happened at a time when people are more likely to feel it that being the quiet time of the morning. For more information visit3.5 magnitude earthquake.

The other earthquake news was the 5.6 magnitude Oklahoma earthquake that occurred Saturday morning. This was felt across a broad area of the Central United States including the Memphis area.  More information can be found at Oklahoma earthquake.

In the case of both quakes if you did feel it, please fill out the did you feel it form as this data is important to help in calculations of effects vs. magnitude of earthquakes in the Central and Eastern United States. Every bit of data helps.
